Le numéro 17 du « Bulletin de veille et d’intelligence économique » de juillet 2017 est paru. Il s’agit d’une publication mensuelle du ministère de l’Economie, du Plan et de la Coopération.

Développement des semences et l’agriculture biologique : L’Union africaine signe des accords avec Tasai et Bvat

Selon la publication, le département Agriculture, développement rural, économie bleue et environnement durable (Arbe) de l’Union africaine (UA) a signé en fin juillet 2022 des accords avec The Africa Seed Access Index (Tasai) et la Biovision Africa Trust (Bvat) pour renforcer leur collaboration sur, respectivement, le secteur semencier en Afrique et le développement de l’agriculture biologique.

«L’accord de l’UA avec Tasai entend soutenir les politiques nationales tendant à améliorer les filières de semences en Afrique. La promotion des bio-engrais et des pesticides est, précisément, encouragée pour aboutir à une production à l’échelle industrielle et abandonner progressivement les engrais et pesticides conventionnels », renseigne le document.

Pour sa part, l’accord entre l’UA et Bvat officialisera la collaboration entre les deux organisations dans la gestion et l’hébergement du secrétariat continental de l’initiative agriculture biologique écologique (Aeo). Cette dernière mise en œuvre en Afrique depuis 2012, s’efforce d’intégrer l’agriculture biologique écologique dans les systèmes, plans et politiques nationaux de production agricole, conformément à la décision des chefs d’État et de gouvernement de l’Union africaine sur l’agriculture biologique. Ces partenariats s’inscrivent dans la suite de la Déclaration de Malabo de 2014 et dans le cadre du Programme détaillé pour le développement de l’agriculture en Afrique (Pddaa), en vue de la réalisation des objectifs fixés dans l’Agenda 2063 de l’UA sur la croissance inclusive et le développement durable.
